PBA...Live!

Tuesday, April 30, 2013

me, first time at Smart Araneta
Finally, I was able to watch a PBA game live at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. Though it is not my favorite team whose playing, which is Ginebra, me and my dates still had fun. We have three free tickets c/o Ms. Jelyn of Alaska Milk Corp. The game was between Alaska and SanMig Mixers. Obviously, we have to cheer for Alaska but I love most of the Mixers player, especially Mark Pingris. But I can't cheer for them because our seats are on the Alaska side. There were people giving out balloons that you can use to cheer your team, red for Alaska and blue for Mixers. The game started earlier than what was indicated at the tickets so a fewer crowd was there when it's time. When the players from both team enter the arena to do some warm-ups everybody got crazy. Drums are banging and people are shouting/cheering. I want to be compose as possible since I don't want the cameras catching me at my craziest when they start shooting at my side. But it's impossible. You will get carried away with the crowd. On the first half of the game I was only clapping when Alaska scores.Waving my balloon once in a while when it's a good shot. But on the second half, especially on the last quarter I was already standing and shouting and booing when it is necessary. It was a close game. We lose by two points (ha, ha, ha) but it was still a great game. Well, it's a best-of-5 game so Alaska has still pretty good chances to make it to the finals. Which I wish to be a Ginebra vs. Alaska battle so that we can ask for more free tickets and watch Ginebra in action.

Photobucket

Dear Blogging World, I'm back! But still taking it slow. Duties are still piling up. But I missed blogging that is why I'm here again. Dear Body Weight, I am losing you and I am very happy. Yehey! Twice a week running at the park, Zumba dancing almost every night and once a month fun run really helps. Forget about dieting, I really can't do that. I love eating. At least I am compensating my 'katakawan' with serious exercises (chos!). Dear Running, I am in love with you. I never thought that I would even like you. Me, being my usual clumsy self, never thought that I would grow an athletic bone (chos ulit!) in my body. Seriously, finishing 5K races are unbelievable feat for me.My friends are urging me to push my limits by trying the 10K category but I think I am not yet ready. One more 5K race and a few more practice runs at the park and soon I am good to go. Dear Running Shoes, I love you! You are a very reliable partner in my new found passion. Dear Daughter, At last you're enrolled. I am very proud of you accomplishing your enrollment by yourself. It really makes you an adult. But don't make haste, enjoy college. I love you. Dear Husband, Nevermind! Dear Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, Goodbye. You are too expensive for me. Coby Kyros see you soon. Dear Someone, Are you performing some kind of voodoo magic again? You keep on pestering my every day life. I can't stop thinking about you. I'm pretty sure I moved on and forgot about anything resembling you. So why the ugly reminiscing and (un)romantic dreams...errr nightmare? Evaporate and be gone...forever! Dear Money, I think I am losing at this 'Hide n' Seek' game you're playing. You are good and I suck! Have some pity, please.   :-(

Queuing at PUP...An Old News

Thursday, April 25, 2013

I saw this report last night about the long lines of incoming freshmen at PUP. Well, this is not new. As an alumni I know how my alma mater was tagged as Pilahan University of the Phils. In all my four years at PUP queuing is something that would always remind me of my school. And now my daughter is an incoming 'Iskolar ng Bayan' and she's now experiencing the perils of enrolling at PUP. And the worse part is only the students are allowed to enter the campus. During my time I got to enroll with my parents assisting me or taking my place on the long lines when I get tired or it gets too hot under the sun. But I guess it's for the better. They will learn to be independent since they are embarking on a more serious studies. I just hope that the PUP administration will somehow find solutions to this long ordeal.

Pardon Me...I Have a Lily Allen Syndrome

Wednesday, April 24, 2013

I feel that Lily Allen perfectly describe how I feel today with these songs. My apologies if I make you feel offended due to the lyrics but it is how it is.

Lily Allen - Fuck you (very very much)

Look inside
Look inside your tiny mind
Now look a bit harder
Cause we're so uninspired
So sick and tired of all the hatred you harbor

So you say
It's not okay to be gay
Well I think you're just evil
You're just some racist who can't tie my laces
Your point of view is medieval

Fuck you (Fuck you)
Fuck you very, very much
Cause we hate what you do
And we hate your whole crew
So please don't stay in touch

Fuck you (Fuck you)
Fuck you very, very much
Cause your words don't translate
And it's getting quite late
So please don't stay in touch

Do you get
Do you get a little kick out of being small-minded?
You want to be like your father
It's approval you're after
Well that's not how you find it

Do you
Do you really enjoy living a life that's so hateful?
Cause there's a hole where your soul should be
You're losing control a bit
And it's really distasteful

Fuck you (Fuck you)
Fuck you very, very much
Cause we hate what you do
And we hate your whole crew
So please don't stay in touch

Fuck you (Fuck you)
Fuck you very, very much
Cause your words don't translate
And it's getting quite late
So please don't stay in touch

Fuck you, Fuck you, Fuck you
Fuck you, Fuck you, Fuck you
Fuck you...

You say
You think we need to go to war
Well, you're already in one
'Cuz it's people like you that need to get slew
No-one wants your opinion.

Fuck you (Fuck you)
Fuck you very, very much
Cause we hate what you do
And we hate your whole crew
So please don't stay in touch

Fuck you (Fuck you)
Fuck you very, very much
Cause your words don't translate and it's getting quite late
So please don't stay in touch

Fuck you (Fuck you)
Fuck you (Fuck you)
Fuck you (Fuck you)

Fuck you (Fuck you)
Fuck you (Fuck you)

When you first left me I was wanting more
But you were doing that girl next door, what ja do that for
When you first left me I didn't know what to say
I never been on my own that way, just sat by myself all day

I was so lost back then
But with a little help from my friends
I found a light in the tunnel at the end
Now you're calling me up on the phone
So you can have a little whine and a moan
And it's only because you're feeling alone

At first when I see you cry,
yeah it makes me smile, yeah it makes my smile
At worst I feel bad for a while,
but then I just smile I go ahead and smile

Whenever you see me you say that you want me back
And I tell you it don't mean jack, no it don't mean jack
I couldn't stop laughing, no I just could help myself
See you messed up my mental health I was quite unwell

I was so lost back then
But with a little help from my friends
I found a light in the tunnel at the end
Now you're calling me up on the phone
So you can have a little whine and a moan
And it's only because you're feeling alone

At first when I see you cry,
yeah it makes me smile, yeah it makes my smile
At worst I feel bad for a while,
but then I just smile I go ahead and smile

lalalalalalalalalalalalalalalala lalala
At first when I see you cry,
yeah it makes me smile, yeah it makes my smile
At worst I feel bad for a while,
but then I just smile I go ahead and smile

Hectic! Frantic! Toxic!

Thursday, April 18, 2013

My apologies. I've been MIA in the blogging world for a couple of weeks and I think I won't be visible for a couple more. I have a very hectic schedule. Apart from my work and daily routine I've been going out more. Going 'outdoor' that is. Over the weekend I climb atop a mountain and took a deep at a beach. Twice a week I have my practice run at the park. But my priority is my daughter's college enrollment happening this coming week. So I guess I'll see you soon and I will share my stories and adventures.

Dear God, Thank You for everything. I know I've been taking for granted Your good graces. Touch my heart Lord so I may be worthy of Your love. Dear Husband, Thank you for taking care of me when I was sick. I know I can be very stubborn. Thank you for your patience. Dear Stomach, Stop acting up. You are not funny. All those agonies during Holy week. It's like a Lenten penitence. Dear Daughter, You are my source of delight these days. Being helpful at home, always cheerful and taking care of yourself whenever you’re home alone. It's like I am meeting you the first time. Keep it up. Dear Office mate, I don't want to get ugly, so I won't be mad. Peace! Dear Exercise, I vow to get serious. Please be good to me. Dear Money, Still playing hide n' seek, eh? Grrrr!

Running Improvement

Thursday, April 04, 2013

I did it again! I done and finished another 5K run last March 24 at the Quirino Grandstand. This is for the benefit of the OFW, our modern day heroes. My race result is not something to brag about, but it's a personal best compared to my previous run

my official time is 47:54 (my last run result is 54:24)

The important thing is my friends and I enjoyed the event. We did something healthy for ourselves while doing something good for the beneficiaries of the event.

the goodies

finisher shirt, bib and medal

My running buddies agreed that we will join another run this April via NatGeo but it will be on 10K category this time. I am kinda scared that I won't finish the race. I don't know if I'm still alive before reaching the finish line (kidding). Then I read this article from Yahoo:

5 Surprising Tricks To Help You Run Faster:
  • Work out if you associate or disassociate

  • Listen to Bon jovi
  • Eat Beetroot
  • Run slower
  • Jump more
I don't know if I will take this tips seriously but it won't hurt to try. Besides I really want more improvement in my running. Good luck to me.

Each Person Shines His Own Way

A samurai who was known for his nobility and honesty, went to visit a Zen monk to ask him for his advice. When the monk had finished his prayers, the samurai asked, "Why do I feel so inferior? I have faced death many times, have defended those who are weak. Nevertheless, upon seeing you meditating, I felt that my life had absolutely no importance whatsoever." "Wait. Once I have attended to all those who come to see me today, I shall answer you." - replied the monk. The samurai spent the whole day sitting in the temple gardens, watching the people go in and out in search of advice. He saw how the monk received them all with the same patience and the same illuminated smile on his face. At nightfall, when everyone had gone, he demanded: "Now can you tech me?" The master invited him in and lead him to his room. The full moon shone in the sky, and the atmosphere was one of profound tranquility. "Do you see the moon, how beautiful it is? It will cross the entire firmament, and tomorrow the sun will shine once again. "But sunlight is much brighter, and can show the details of the landscape around us: trees, mountains, clouds." "I have contemplated the two for years. and never heard the moon say: why do I not shine like the sun? Is it because I am inferior?" "Of course not." -answered the samurai. "The moon and the sun are different things, each has its own beauty. You cannot compare the two." "So you know the answer. We are two different people, each fighting in his own way fort hat which he believes, and making it possible to make the world a better place; the rest are mere appearances."

Martyr Nyebera

Wednesday, April 03, 2013

My husband keep humming a familiar song since last week but I can't recall the title. Suddenly I heard it on the radio today. I laugh so hard when I realize the lyrics. If he is singing this to us this is no longer true with our current status. We are much, much better now. Or maybe he is carrying out the tune out of habit. Here it is....

Kinokompleto mo ang araw ko

sa tuwing inaaway mo
paggising sa umaga
mukha mo ang nakikita
wala pang nagawa nakasimangot na
at pagsapit ng gabi tampo lalong lumalaki
ang gusto ko lambingan
ngunit may unan na namamagitan

[Chorus:]
Ang almusal ay sigawan
Ang Hapunan natin ay tampuhan
Ang Mirienda pagdududa

Pero mahal kita
wala ng hahanapin pang iba
handa kong magtiis
kahit na
away,away,away na to...

Nahuli lang ng ilang minuto
Di na kinibo
Natrapik lang sa kanto
Di naman gwapo
naisip mo agad nan chiks ako
simple lang naman ang pinagmulan
pinahaba ang usapan
di naman kailangan
mahabang away na naman

[Chorus:]
Ang almusal ay sigawan
Ang Hapunan natin ay tampuhan
Ang Mirienda pagdududa

Pero mahal kita
wala ng hahanapin pang iba
handa kong magtiis
kahit na
away,away,away na to...

[(Girl):]
Kahit na sabihin na naliligo ka sa sampal
Di mo masasabi na hindi kita minamahal
Ang dami mong babae
Wala ka pang trabaho
Ngunit kahit ganun ay nandito lang ako
Nandito lang ako

[Chorus:]
Ang almusal ay sigawan
Ang Hapunan natin ay tampuhan
Ang Mirienda pagdududa

Pero mahal kita
wala ng hahanapin pang iba
handa kong magtiis
kahit na
away,away,away na to...
away,away,away na to...
away,away,away na to...

Wednesday Happy Thoughts

Never forget to be grateful for everything given to you. Be reminded and always be thankful. Here goes....

  1. I have as situation with a client that's been bothering me since last week. Well, it's 'partially' resolved. I am still crossing my fingers.
  2. I had my much needed rest last Holy Week but my stomach acted up. I did not enjoy the food but it's a season of fasting so it's okay.
  3. And after taking my medicines and watching what I eat my stomach is fine now. The agony is over! Thank you so much!
  4. Budget-friendly staycation. I love seeing my family enjoying our inflatable pool.
  5. After her hospitalization due to dehydration followed by a measles attack, Aily is finally well and very much recovering.
  6. My new office shoes, simple and comfortable.....and cheap!
  7. Holy Week movie marathon: The Healing, Apocalypto, Amityville Horror, Troy, How to Train a Dragon, Pitch Perfect (watched this 5 times during the weekend), Mama, Sinister, Inception, PS I Love You, Hunger Games, Hide and Seek and Constantine.
  8. My get-well soups: Knorr Crab n' Corn Soup and Chicken Noodle Soup.
  9. Leslie helping with the house chores and gladly doing it.
  10. My husband and my daughter making sure that I still have smiles inspite of my being sick. Kahit mukha na silang tanga at corny ang mga jokes nila
