"As you look back on your life, you will often realize that many of the times you thought you were being rejected from something good, you were in fact being redirected to something better. You can’t control everything. Sometimes you just need to relax and have faith that things will work out. Let go a little and just let life happen. Because sometimes the truths you can’t change, end up changing you and helping you grow."

Coming Home to Mandaue Foam
Thursday, July 26, 2012
Being a single mom gives me the freedom (and sometimes the burden) of choosing and designing the appropriate furniture for our humble abode. Thanks to Mandaue Foam Furniture Store, I now have some wonderful ideas for our next furniture shopping. Here are my top finds:
- This is MF20021 Gemma Workcentere and this is perfect for a working mom like me. I can put it in a corner of my room and have my personal office right at home. I have this habit of bringing my unfinished work home so that I can start the next day to another set of works. And this is very affordable at P2,000.00 only.
- I love books. And my only bookshelf at home is overflowing already. So, this VS9108 3-Door Bookshelf with Glass is perfect for that extra storage I needed for my books. And it only cost P 3,200.00.
- I am a foodie. And I don't just eat. I consider dining with my family as a bonding time for us. This is the moment when we can tell how we did that day and discuss anything under the sun. So a round and spacious dining table is what I prefer. The 777-T20+777-C21-2 Twisted Slats Dining Base with Knockled Back Dining Chair Set is perfect for us. Priced at P 32,500.00, it is an elegance and convenient dining combined.
So remember, every visit to Mandaue Foam Furniture Store gives you the freedom to choose and be creative. 'Your home, your imagination'

who wouldn't be?
at the start of this school week my daughter showed me this....
and this brought on the fondest of memories when she was just starting to go to school. she is in her senior year now. and it's quite rare for a 'star' stamped by the teacher on a student's hand in high school. regardless, this made me smile. for me, my baby is still a baby, even though she's taller than me.
however, before the week ends, she showed me another thing. these are artworks done by a schoolmate/classmate. i have no idea of the person since she doesn't wanna talk about him. she just told me not to bother knowing the guy because it's a nobody. but i can't help not to be afraid. here they are...
quite scary right? but i didn't show my emotions to my daughter. i had to keep smiling so i can encourage her to make kwento. i ask her how she reacted. if she felt 'kilig'. if she answered 'yes'. she responded with a shrug, then a very loud and resounding "no!". he is not her type daw. weh? just a day before that she receive a flower from the same guy. why bother bringing the gifts home if it doesn't matter, right?
haaayyyy...how time flies. i can't barely catch up with my daughter nowadays, now this? well, all i can be is a very loving and supporting mom to her. and she also adheres to her promise to be a good daughter and finish her studies before anything else. i can only hope so much.

japanese straight...better than rebonding
last saturday i had my hair done at tomi no haru salon located at espana, manila. i bought a discounted service from metrodeal. an 8-step japanese straight for only P999.00 instead of P 2,650.00. that's a lot of savings, right? i chose the location since it's the nearest from my workplace among their other 6 branches here at metro manila. my schedule is at 3pm but as i got there at 2:45 i found a large crowd packed inside a small space. i don't know if it is because of overbooking but the place is full. their salon is quite small and it doesn't look like a salon at all. more like a 'parlour' where ladies gather to talk about the latest gossip around their neighborhood. i am not exaggerating. all i can see are chairs, mostly monoblock chairs. not the usual comfortable salon chairs i'm used to. there's no salon equipment like hood dryers, hair steamers, etc. they only have a small shampoo bowl station at the corner, 3 small rectangular mirros, a small tv, monoblock chairs as waiting area and 1 salon trolley that contain 4 types of hair iron. and they have a shortage of combs. where do you find a salon that operates with only 2 pcs of combs? the stylists had to take out their own combs to accommodate their clients. and they don't have scissors. they don't do haircuts. only hair straightening and hair coloring. maybe i just expect so much from them thinking that they are in parallel with david's salon and such. nevertheless, the salon staffs are quite friendly and accommodating. they are all smiles even though they haven't eaten for quite a while. i know, because i also didn't take any bite during my stay there for about 10 hours. yes! 10 hours. the normal process could take about 6-8 hours only, but since we are overcrowded, it took longer than it should. well, i can't tell the detail of my hair straightening process because it's a series of treatment applications, washing, blow drying, ironing. the usual things that the other salon did when rebonding. the only difference is the treatment their using are not matapang. it's like a normal leave-on conditioner that actually smells good. and another thing, unlike in rebonding where you can color your hair through cellophane treatment only, with japanese straight you can use permanent hair color on the same day. i had mine in reddish brown color. so all in all, after the long process, i'm tired, hungry, thirsty, deprive of sleep and pretty....very pretty !!! (hahaha) see here...

music monday #004: tiffany
Monday, July 02, 2012
my choice of song for MM today is an oldies. it's about a love lost. and i definitely can relate to that. it's so hard and so sad to be in a situation wherein you can no longer be with the one you love when that's all you ever want. all your plans and dreams vanished. everything you want became what-ifs. i heard this song last saturday and it's still ringing in my ears and stinging my eyes. sigh......
